Dr. Josh Beam: I grew up on 50 cow Holstein dairy operation in Delight, NC. I got my BS and MS degrees at NC State University in soil and crop science, respectively. I received my Ph.D from Virginia Tech in Weed Science. After getting my degrees, I worked with NC Cooperative Extension for three years as an Area field crops agent in Lincoln and Catawba counties, in NC. In 2007 I went to work for Sunnyridge farm and worked there for seven years helping producers to grow blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries and also managing a 75 acre blackberry farm and a distribution center. In August 2014 I took a position as the Precision Ag specialist for Western, NC with Southern States.
